Importing posts from WP export file WITHOUT media

  I have a blog of which I’d like to migrate the posts WITHOUT the images to a WP.com site. A standard export also exports pointers to the media and that’s what I don’t want. I want to export-import text only.

  Is there a way to do this?

  If you are exporting your content from a WordPress site hosted elsewhere and have the option to not download attachments, please try that. Otherwise, your export file is going to include attachment links to all of your media and you may need to edit your posts/delete your media library once you’ve imported the content. Alternately, you can try manually editing your .xml file to remove all attachment links before you import the file.
