Importing simple WordPress website taking almost two days

  After opening my account the other day I wanted to import a very simple WordPress website from another user. I began the import and the import page said that it was processing, and that I would receive an e-mail when it was complete. I thought that for the size of the file it would take minutes, but now it’s been almost two days. I can’t try again because the Import page is stuck on “processing.”

  Any suggestions?

  Hi there,
  Sometimes the importer gets stuck. I tagged this thread for Staff to reset it for you. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

  Thanks a lot for the response. As of right now the status is unchanged.
  I.e. it still says that it’s processing. No word from Staff.

  Staff have tens of thousands to provide support for and there are many threads tagged for Staff support as well as tickets submitted for support generated each and every day.

  What’s required now is your patience as Staff work through all forum threads tagged for their attention and through all email support tickets in chronological order based on datestamps and timestamps – first posted first served, as would be expected.

  How long it takes to clear the threads and support tickets depends on how many Happiness Engineers are working on them at any given point in time. It also depends on how complex the issues in each thread and ticket are are.

  Please don’t bump your thread here by posting into it again because it’s not in your best interest to post to it after it has been tagged for Staff help. Doing that moves the timestamps forward and it takes longer to get a response.

  @jjcrow – I have reset your importer. Can you try running the import one more time?

  @viawolf – Did you need a importer reset as well? If so, could you let me know the blog address?

  Okay, I started running the import a couple of hours ago and it’s still processing. How long does it usually take? The file i’m trying to import is super small; about 17kb.

  I also started to import yesterday and after more than 24hrs, nothing changed, still “processing”.
  Could you please check mine also?

  @jjcrow – It looks like yours got stuck again for some reason. I went ahead and cleared the jam. How many posts/pages/media items are in your import out of curiosity?

  @mizsi3 – Are you referring to walkingwithistvan.wordpress.com? If so, could you let me know what service you’re importing from? I don’t see a WordPress import stuck at the moment.
