  Can you share more information on what’s happening? I will do everything possible to get the bottom of this and help fix it.

  Are you trying to move your site from WordPress.com to self-hosted WordPress, self-hosted WordPress to WordPress.com or transferring your WordPress.com site to another user?

  I was also trying the same few days ago and faced similar error. After some investigation I found that problem was due to large xml file size which was causing timeout error. If the hosting you are using is a VPS or Dedicated server, you will have options in the WHM panel to change the timeout setting. It usually is 600ms. You can change it to some other higher value. But if you are using a shared hosting then you will not find option to change the timeout settings. Ask your hosting service provider to help you out. Find details on how to fix timeout error

  Do you mean you are trying to import content to a WordPress.com site? To which site are you trying to import, and from which site?

  Hi Kokkieh, I completely agree with your concern. I didn’t intend to post any irrelevant link, it is link to a tutorial I wrote on how to resolve the timeout error. I was facing this issue a few days ago while migrating a news website from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. Surely I will be more careful while mentioning any links in future. Thanks for the intimation.
