Importing to WordPress

Can I delete my old blogger blog once I have successfully imported it to WordPress? Are there any other steps I need to follow to ensure all search engines find my blog at its new home?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can delete the blog and if you don’t either make it private or delete it popup will be creating duplicate content which is not a good thing. You may want t to place only one post on the front page of the old site directing to your new blog’s URL.
It can take weeks for search engines to index your blog. It’s publishing posts, not pages that attracts search engine attention.

Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.
