    sorry but i don’t understand what it’s mean “bump up”
    i’m here in my blogger’s dashboard, in Site Feed. Is here?

    thnx in advance.

    I also have no idea how to “bump up my RSS feed” in my blogger beta blog. Can someone explain it in more detail?

    Thanks!

  • Unknown's avatar

    I’m also having the same problem would some sort this out.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Same here. How does one “bump up” an RSS feed? I tried asking via feedback, but I’m not getting anywhere.

  • Unknown's avatar

    I dont have RSS feeds can this be done through Atom feeds

  • Unknown's avatar

    I just drmike suggested and beleive this will work good enough. The only problem I experianced was with the RSS feed. Blogger seem to focus on the Atom feed. I wonder how long time it takes for the Blogger to “bump” up the RSS feed after I have initiated it. I noticed I had a 3 days old RSS but a daily fresh Atom

    Anyone who knows how to convert my atom to rss, so I get a fresh rss I mean.

    I will then change back the settings on blogger until WP is up and working. However, I did not check if the comments where still there.

    Not a clue but you can try using the daria.be bit above and see if you can import the Atom feed within the RSS importer.

    Here‘s a method but a quick looksee at it shows that it’s not for everybody.

    Hi drmike

    I’ve started the transfer process by using your “cheat” method. I created an account at daria.be, downloaded the RSS feed from the old site to my hard drive. Then went back to the daria.be site and did the “import” step.

    What I found I have is the headnotes from most of the posts. I do not have the full text of the posts. There are no categories (easy to fix).

    At least I have the original date and time for each post. But it really is a lot of work to fill in everything for every post by hand.

    Did I do something the wrong way? The old site doesn’t have a tool for doing anything about the number (not even seeing how many) of posts on the blog. So I did nothing in regard to “bumping up the number.”

    Okay. While I’m in the process of getting things imported and set up, is it possible for me to start blogging on WordPress before I import or should I wait until after? What will happen if I start blogging before completing an import?

    Which site are we looking at over at d.b and blogger?

  • Unknown's avatar

    the site is vivasdesk

    the blogger is — hmmm, i guess my own name

    Yvonne LaRose, screen name is Viva

  • Unknown's avatar

    Drmike-

    I did as you suggested above. I created my daria account. I attempted to set my blogger feed as high as I could…since I did not have a blogger Pro I could only set to full. Now how do I get an RSS feed going that will be seen by daria.be?

    What’s next?

  • Unknown's avatar

    @bwana
    I’m sorry to tell you this but drmike will only be available on a hit or miss basis for the next 5 weeks. I believe you should send in a feedback to staff and ask for help with a link back to this thread.

    Timethief-

    Thanks…too bad he is gone AND his directions don’t work!

  • Unknown's avatar

    He’s not really “gone”. He’s just unavailable because he’s working day time hours but he will stop in from time to time. Do not despair. You do have two alternatives.
    (1) Use the support daria.be email address. Send your problem to him that way and be sure to include your daria.be username and information. I hasten to add *do not post it here*.
    (2) Send a feedback to wordpress staff and ask for help.

    P.S. This may be helpful when it comes to explaining the process you will be undertaking. :)

    Not sure on the blogger end but since most blogger sites I’ve look at, they have feeds already in there.

    Should be a setting on the backend.

    Hi all,

    I’ve created a simple script to import posts and comments.

    http://www.romantika.name/v2/2006/12/19/import-blogger-beta-to-wordpress/

    Do check it…

  • Unknown's avatar

    @romantika
    This is for self hosted or web hosted blogs from wordpress.org http://wordpress.org and not for wordpress.com blogs. I’m concerned that posting it here may confuse wordpress.com bloggers.

  • Unknown's avatar

    @timethief

    That is true I apologize. That script is only for self-hosting blogs, where you upload your own wordpress installations. WordPress.com users will not benefit from it.

    Thank you. I will be more careful next time.
