importing tumblr

Hiya. Currently importing my tumblr blog; so far, no problems. However, i am importing 24+k posts. I realize it will take time. If I want to stop the import in order to continue it at another time (or day), should I choose ‘Disconnect from tumblr’? Will what’s been imported stay on wordpress? Then, if i come back and continue the import a day or two from now, the import will pick up where it left off? (eg., not ‘re-import’ what’s already been imported?)

- If yes, what is the URL?
- Did you remove advertising an un-approved comments before creating the XML export file?
- What is the size of the XML import file?
Sometimes the importer gets stuck. If the XML export file is large you may have to import Posts, Pages, etc. in separate files. Or if the XML export file is very large Staff may have to do the import.

thanks. Yes, I followed instructions found on the import-from-tumblr page. I just wanted to know if I clicked on “Disconnect…” link *during* the importing process, and then began import process again on another day, the import would begin where it left off.

UPDATE: my initial question is moot: i did stop the import earlier. I have since been notified by WP that I’ve maxed out my upload space limit. I want to start from scratch – remove all posts I imported BUT KEEP my domain/url. I know how to Bulk Edit, but there are over 3,000 posts to delete — any way WordPress staff can help >> just remove everything but leave me with the domain/url…?

Hi there,
I can empty your site for you, but that cannot be reversed, and will also remove any content that might have been there prior to your Tumblr import. Can you please confirm if I should go ahead? Also confirm the URL of the WordPress.com site, please.
Also note that the space only applies to your media files. Your site has unlimited space for posts and pages, but only 3GB of free storage for media files.

Cool, thanks. At risk of repetitive injury, I did manage to delete a huge batch yesterday, but it was exhausting ;-) ha, yeah – legos….took a peak at your blog – there’s obviously more than one happiness engineer in your household, lol
