Importing Tumblr

I’m trying to import my tumblr, and I got an email titled “Upload space limit reached” and on the import page, the import status has stagnated. I don’t want to have to purchase a space upgrade, I just want to import my tumblr.

Mine is also hanging up, but I’m not seeing any such message. I am concerned about whether I have to get a space upgrade for it, but I’m not sure, even though it says “In Progress”. Some help on this would be appreciated.

Hi there,
WordPress.com free sites do have a space limit of 3GB. It sounds like your site has reached the 3GB limit during import, so you will need to upgrade.

Okay, then, second question, how many posts would 3GB be? (I’m assuming 6000 roughly, based on where I’m at.)

It appears the Tumblr import on your site has failed, so I’ve reset the importer so you can try again. Please let us know if it hasn’t completed after 24 hours.
If some posts have already imported they will be skipped by the importer during your next attempt, so they should not be duplicated.

None, as posts do not count toward the 3GB media upload limit. Only media files – pictures, GIFs, videos, audio files, count towards that limit. It’s impossible to say how many files that would be as that depends on various factors including the types of files and filesize of individual files.
