Importing Tumblr blog won’t make progress and can’t start up

As I’m sure you’re no doubt aware of the mass exodus, I’ve tried to import a blog from Tumblr, but using your import tool, I’m stuck at no progress and when I tried to restart the importer, it says that I cannot.

Following Tumblr’s recent announcement regarding content allowed on their service on their service, we’re experiencing unusually high volumes of Tumblr imports, leading to some delays in these imports.
If you’re trying to import your Tumblr blog to WordPress.com and it looks like the import isn’t starting, please be patient. Imports are being queued on our servers and will be completed in the order that they were started. Please let us know if the import hasn’t completed after 24 hours.
Staff can help you reset the importer.

Please try again, or let me know if you’re trying to import to a different site.
If it seems to take long, please be patient and don’t try cancelling the process yourself – we’re experiencing a high volume of imports from Tumblr at the moment causing a backlog of pending imports in our system. The imports are being run in the order they are submitted.
If the new import doesn’t complete within 24 hours, please let us know.

I was trying to do it for a different site: https://wizardsneednotapply.wordpress.com/
But unfortunately I did cancel the import because I was not aware that things were being imported, and now when I try to get things going again, I’m greeted with this.

@arthroaudio I noticed that site is deleted. Did you want to try again?
Noting we’re still getting quite a few tumblr import requests, so I’m guessing your import was likely still queued.

Yeah, it probablt wasn’t the best decision, but I did make another site with a similar name at https://wizardsneednotapplybackup.wordpress.com
This time I’m going to be more patient, and I’ll get back to you if and when it does not resolve. -

Well, the apocalypse came and went, and the restored URL still has not imported my Tumblr content, long after the backup that I had made has.

It looks like the importer on that site became stuck, likely due to the site having been deleted. I’ve reset that now, so please try starting the import again at https://wizardsneednotapply.wordpress.com/wp-admin/admin.php?import=tumblr
