No you cannot import the database into a free hosted WordPress.com blog. Please read this comparison: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Thanks for the reply. I followed your link but did not find any explanation for importing other databases. I read somewhere that it could be done so thought I’d post and ask.
If I can’t use WordPress other than VBulletin do you know of any forum software that would allow for the importing of these database files?
Thanks

Check over at WordPress.ORG, there are a ton of Plug-in’s and such for the .ORG software –

You be welcome – there are two flavors of “WordPress” and it can be very confusing at times about which one a how to do this is talking about

I’ve been to both sites where the .org appears to be the place for building your site and adding things and the .com is where the membership/forum is if I have it right.
I built the militarycommcenter web site from Word Press that was finally hacked so I took it down but I really like the software. Unfortunately my Marine Corps site was built with Vbulletin that I want to get away from. Because the sites been up for a number of years now I can’t afford the loss of my membership and forum postings. It’s a historical web site that I just can’t afford the loss of data.
Any idea’s would be greatly appreciated.

WordPress.ORG also has a help forum: http://wordpress.org/support/
You need to open an account there if you don’t have one already – the account would be not related to here or any of your blogs / web sites
This is a great place – but the imports are limited
