Importing WordPress XML to new WordPress site

I am a camp counselor and this week campers are making blogs as partners, and then I am exporting those blogs and importing them (using the XML WordPress export/import function) into two new blogs, essentially duplicating the site they created into two new blogs. The only problem is, a lot of them (this blog being one of them) are not processing. Some have, but most have not. The design also did not transfer, only the posts. I have tried troubleshooting using Google but no luck. Help? Thank you!

I am sorry you are having this difficulty.
When you export, it happens with no errors (you didn’t mention any), correct?
When you import, do any errors display? If so what are they? At which point in the import process (beginning, middle, the neverending swirly circle, end) do they come along?
What are the addresses of complete and incomplete examples so we can take a look? Are they WordPress.Com sites?
aquamarine777.wordpress.com is there, but is nothing more than a site with a theme. Is this one of the affected sites? Which theme(s) are not “transferring”?
And of course you are following the instructions in:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
and
https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

So yes, I have now just been doing it all by hand, copying and pasting the posts into new sites, but the themes never copied. It doesn’t say any errors, but on the Import page, it just still says “Processing…”
I did log out, but it said that it had uploaded, so I didn’t think I needed to stay on that page while it was processing/thinking. One camper’s blog did transfer over — do they have to verify the blog’s email before import? That is the only thing I can think of that is different about hers than the others.
But, here, for example — I was trying to move this whole blog: https://edmopa1.wordpress.com/
to here:
https://raineyahblog.wordpress.com/I would show you others but I have made a lot of progress by hand moving the others and just having the kids redesign it.
I did follow those instructions — exported using wordpress and imported with wordpress, selecting the wordpress option.

First, i apologize for taking so long to reply.but on the Import page, it just still says “Processing…”
That means the import is stuck somewhere. I have added the Modlook tag so the good WordPress folks will look into this. If you would please, confirm which blog(s) are stuck in the import process so they can clear that out.

Yes. Until the account is verified many functions will not work.

That sure can be time consuming though and the kids don’t get to see how cool the export/import process is.

Once you confirm which blog(s) are stuck in the import process the wonderful WordPress staff can unstuck them and you should be able to get on with the camp!

It may just be something that’s flagged wrong. Send us links to the ones that are stuck; we’ll take a look.
