Importing wpress file

    We recently changed hosts and needed an old version of our site transferred to their servers. An error occurred and our media did not transfer. We have a .wpress file from a few months before changing hosts and I just need to know if it is possible to import this or extract media from it. I created a new WordPress account to import and I got a 413 error code.

    Hi johnflorastuartcom,

    An error occurred and our media did not transfer.

    personalinjurybg.wordpress.com is marked as private but the site will need to public in order for media to be successfully imported onto the new site.

    This is because the .xml file doesn’t include the actual image files, only links to the images on the site you exported from — the importer than retrieves the images during the import process (which is why personalinjurybg.wordpress.com needs to remain public until that process is complete).
