Importing Xanga Blog to WordPress
-
I’ve tried importing the xml files from my Xanga archive and ONE of the xml files imported. But two of them have not. I’ve tried importing them two more times. Each time I get an email telling me that they imported successfully, but they haven’t. I can look at the XML file and the earliest date of a post that is currently on my blog is in September 2005. But in the XML file the earliest date is, Tue, 28 Sep 2004
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. Have you imported every file in the zip folder that you received when you downloaded your content from Xanga?
Click on the button “Choose File” and find the first of your .xml files from Xanga on your computer. Once you have chosen the file, click on the button “Upload file and import”.
There will be a short delay (depending on how much content you have), and then you will receive confirmation of the import. You will then need to do this with each of the import files you received from Xanga.com, which could be three or more separate files.
You can read more about importing Xanga files here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-xanga/

Yes, I did exactly what you are saying, but only ONE of them has worked. I keep trying to upload the others. They send me an email telling me that it was successfully imported, but the posts aren’t showing up.

Did you try to import the XML using the WordPress importer and not the Xanga importer?
Have you tried using a different browser http://browsehappy.com?
If you are not successful please post this specific info here:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.

I’m using a MacBook Retina. I tried on Safari and Google Chrome.
I haven’t tried using a different importer, I didn’t know I could try that. I’ll try that now.

Some people have succeeded using different browsers and some have succeeded when changing importers. Good luck.
