Importing xanga content to WordPress– stuck on "processing… " for over 24 hr

I have uploaded one file from xanga to WordPress successfully, but received one email saying that another file had not uploaded. From Dashboard- Tools- Import- WordPress, I get “Processing…” and I cannot upload any more files. It’s been over 24 hours. How do I proceed? Stuck!

Not to worry. Search results reveal there are others with the same Xanga importing issue posting into multiple threads and Staff will assist you all when they can. I have manually reset your import for clibbyblog.wordpress.com. You can try importing your content again.
Please note that if you continue to have issues with this, you you may need to try exporting your content from Xanga.com again. I’ve seen reports where the export files were too small (just 1-2KB each) to have contained blog posts, so it may be that their export file creator isn’t always working properly. If that continues to be an issue, you may need to contact Xanga.com
Assuming your export file is completed, be sure to import all of the .xml files individually.

Thanks for resetting for me. Yes, it’s a small file given to me by xanga, just 825 bytes. Might just be one entry… but an important one.
I tried to upload that file again, I’m stuck on processing yet again…

I have reset the importer again.
In your export folder that you downloaded from Xanga.com, were there multiple .xml files?
If so, you might try importing the next file.
If this still isn’t working for you, then there may be something wrong with your export file, and you may wish to contact Xanga.com for more assistance.
