Importing XML file, no images appearing

  Hello,

  Is is possible to import a wordpress export xml file with images if the source website is now offline?

  Hi there:

  XML files do not contain the images, they only contain links to the images. If the images are no longer available on the original place they were, then they’re gone.

  I hope that clarifies things.

  Ok, thank you for clearing that up. If I import the same images into my media library on the new site is there a plug in or easier way to replace the broken links on the imported blog posts, other than go into each indivual post and re uploading them?

  No, they would need to be re-added to each post/page.
