Importing XML from Self-Hosted WP to New WP

    I’ve just exported the XML, but am unable to reproduce a website on WordPress.com using the import setting. It creates many pages, some with/without content, but all are not updated to the correct theme yet. Does this mean it’s not compatible with this version of WordPress, or was the transfer just poorly executed?
