Importing Yahoo 360 via Geocities into WordPress
-
Well the question about importing Yahoo 360 blogs into WordPress has come up over and over again since Yahoo360 announced it’s closure in October 2007 – but the question has never been answered.
So I will try this another way. My Yahoo 360 blog is mirrored on Yahoo’s Geocities as a website homepage. Here is the link (http://www.geocities.com/sondanlyles/)
Is there perhaps some way that this can be imported into WordPress? Asking Yahoo or Geocities is not an option since they no longer provide any support.Of course, in the meantime, I am still slowly but surely cutting and pasting every blog and uploading every picture into WordPress — but this is really really really getting old.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Sondan
Unfortunately I don’t believe there’s a way to import from Yahoo 360/Geocities as the technology they have used isn’t supported by the WP systems.
I think you’re stuck with cut and paste, although I hope I am wrong. 188 pages of posts to import is going to take much much time.

A little Googling brought me straight back to this forum with a post from last year’s enf:

Have you by any chance tried either of the methods outlined in that thread?

Hi Cornell – I guess it always comes back to “cut and paste” but that seem so very odd a solution for the hi-tech world we live in.
Yes, I tried both methods and neither works. Believe you me I have been searching for an answer basically every since the very day Yahoo made their announcement.
Thanks for taking time out to reply and if you think of anything more do let me know.
Have a great weekend.
Sondan
