importing/exporting

I have my own domain, and I have been blogging there for years. I exported my wordpress blog after there were some hosting/server issues. When reinstalled my blog using softalicious (installing wordpress) and then installed the importer plugin I imported the d/l XML file. The entries are there but none of the pictures. I have been working with my hosting but they say it is a word press issue. Any suggestions?

my blog is located at greyspace.onaclerarday.us – i created this greyspacebacckup.wordpress.com blog to access the forums. I have been using wordpress on my own domain for 5 years and this issue is something I really would like resolved.
