Imports and export, and exports and imports
-
I created another blog privately to use as a backup for my regular blog. Now a month or so ago I exported my current blog and imported it to to the backup, all went well, however I have some questions.
1: I have done the same process again today, but it doesn’t allow a date range, so I exported my blog and imported it again, this is the entire blog and not just from when I did it last time. Will it create double entries for all the entries that were backed up last time, or is is clever enough to know they are duplicates and ignore those.
2: it says the import can only be 15mb, now my backup files was almost 6m and it is a relatively new blog, how can I use these feature when my blog xml file goes above 15mb
3: are you able on the export and import features put a date range, that way we know we are backing up incrementaly rather than having to do all or nothing.
Regards
Steve
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1) It will not create duplicates
2) You will have to break it into chunks by date, catgory, etc.

ok, so if I break it into chunks by exporting as post, pages and feedback separately will it put every back together in the correct order when importing.
When importing you can only choose the file so the separate files need to be done at import.
