Imports from Posterous with youtube links are missing the links
-
I just noticed that some of the older posts I imported from Posterous containing youtube links are missing the links.
For example, compare:
http://douglerner.com/blog/2007/12/30/a-few-minutes-with-hao-chan
at Posterous with
here at wordpress.com.
Is there anything I can do about that? I think maybe all the imported ones with youtube links are missing the links. Sigh.
Thanks,
doug

Thanks, Timethief.
The same problem didn’t seem to happen with newer imported posts, like from 2009.

It looks like these were embedded with Youtube’s old Flash embed code, so we don’t have a way to translate it since we can’t allow Flash here.
About how many posts were affected?

Thanks for checking.
I’m not sure how many there are. I’ll just go through them one-by-one over time and edit them.
It may not be a priority here, because the links are so old, but it looks from the source like they would be straightforward to translate.
One of the attributes is
and the YouTube video URL is right there:
Just thought I’d point that out. :)

To tell the truth I don’t remember. It was almost 5 years ago. It’s possible it was via the embed code off of Youtube.com.

That is more than likely it. We may be able to fix this in the future, but won’t be able to re-import the affected posts.
For now, I recommend just changing those manually.
