Imports Receiving Updates?
-
I was digging through my old unused sites and found one that has a retired theme. I’d like to import blogger to it. I do have some posts scheduled on blogger. If I import blogger to here. Would it update the scheduled post when it is time? If it does I would like to make an a post without while I continue to play with the wordpress.

Hi there!
I wanted to share a bit of background around what’s happening with Blogger imports.
Google recently changed how Blogger exports work. They’ve moved from XML exports to Atom files, which is why, when you export content from Blogger, you now see a
feed.atomfile instead of an XML file in your Takeout download. Our native Blogger importer was built to work with the older XML format, so it’s no longer compatible. Because of that, the import can appear to run successfully, but no content actually shows up.The best workaround at the moment is the Blogger Importer Extended plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/blogger-importer-extended/
It’s designed to handle Atom files. The free version lets you import up to 20 posts, and there’s a paid option if you need to import more. It also works well for larger blogs.
Using this plugin does require a paid plan. Since all of our paid plans now support plugins, one option is to upgrade to the Personal plan, install the plugin, and test importing your Blogger posts that way.
Regarding scheduled posts, imported posts won’t remain linked to Blogger’s future publishing schedule. They’ll be imported as published posts or drafts, but they won’t auto-publish at a later date on their own.
Another option is to manually copy and paste each posts from Blogger which depending on the no. of posts, can take time.
I know this isn’t ideal, and I’m sorry there isn’t a free native option anymore. If you have any questions or want help thinking through next steps, feel free to ask.
