Impossible to export media library
-
Hello,
I can’t download all my files from media library with the export function, it says “network error” each time after several minutes. I tried on 3 different computers without success.
How can I download the files?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @sebastienmira. If your media library is very large, or you have a slow connection, it might time out before the download completes.
If your browser supports resuming a failed download you can resume it without starting over completely.
If not, your options are:
1 – If you are downloading the media to upload them to another WordPress site, you can export the content as .xml file following these instructions. This file won’t store the media but will store the links to them, so when you import into another WP site, they will transfer the media from the old site to the new one.
2 – If you have the pro plan, you can go to JetPack → Activity Log, find a backup and dowload it. Before download you can select only the media. Here are more instructions about it.
I do not recall any other options. Remember to try on different browsers, and let us know if any option worked. -
Hi there,
I see that your media library is quite large (2.5 GB) and that can be an issue if you use a slow network, or one that has intermittent connection issues.
Instead please use this alternate link: https://jeunevoyageurdu34.wordpress.com/wp-admin/export.php
On that page you will see that you can specify a date range for your files, so that instead of downloading all photos in one (very large) file, you can instead download it as smaller ones.

Give the size of your media library, I would recommend downloading no more than a month at a time (you can try two months and see if that works too) and you should be able to export your media that way.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
