Impossible to merge the black color into the background

So I’ve spent hours googling and trying to figure this out but I couldn’t find an answer. So here is my problem. My background color is a pure black. The image that I want to use to merge the black is also a pure black but as soon as its uploaded the black is made into a lighter color. Completely ruining the entire look! I didn’t want to post a topic but I’m so frustrated because I can’t figure it out. I read that the images color is reduced when you upload it to wordpress and the solution to that is by converting the file into a sRGB. I tried that but I got the same result. If someone could help me I would be extremely grateful because I’m almost tearing my hair out here.
