Improve the Subscribe Widget's UX

Although the subscribe widget allows us to change the widget title for followers (to “You are already subscribed” or similar), the optional text, email form field, and subscribe button remains regardless.

This is a confusing, contradictory visual.

Would be great to have a way for the optional text, form field, and subscribe button to disappear after a user is already subscribed.

    Thanks.

  • Hello there,

    Many thanks for that feedback.

The main reason for this experience is because there is a two factor opt-in for subscribing.

Once an email is added into the subscription block, that needs to confirmed.

I hope that clears up any confusion there.

    Many thanks.

Thank you for the explanation, which makes sense from a backend point of view, but is still confusing for the end user. A couple of options from a UI/UX perspective:

    1. Make the fields disappear after email confirmation.

    2. Or, if the above is too hard to trace, after email address submission, replace the fields with a “problem with your subscription?” link that links to either a new form/page or reloads the fields. (actually, this link could appear after confirmation in #1 as well)

I’m sure these fixes are not easy to code, but would much improve the UX.

    Thanks for your consideration.

  • Thanks! We’ll definitely consider this. :)
