improving my search technique on the forum

When I search the forum for help, I can only see a few posts, all recent, and covering all areas of WordPress, not just the specific thing I am looking for.

Even if I search in different locations (e.g., Staff Answers) I more or less see the same few posts. What am I doing wrong? How can I correct my search technique.

I am using the free .com site. That you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello!

Good question! I find that the best way to more specific answers is to use the “You may also try your search at Google” link on the bottom of the search page.

This will lead you to a google search, which will search “site:https://en.forums.wordpress.com/” and then whatever your question or key words are will be filled in after the /. I find this search is more indexed and will find more specific answers. I definitely have better luck searching this way.

    Hope this helps!

Hi.. Thank you for your help. I did previously see the search on Google button, but now that I am looking for it I can’t see it anymore! Please can you remind me exactly where to look? Step by step idiot’s guide, please. Thank you.
