In Academica, is there any way to put post excerpt over the image in the slider
-
I know I can just do it in an photo editor, but would there be CSS code or any other way to do it w/in the theme?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I was unable to locate a slider on your website. Are you perhaps referring to the post excerpts in the right sidebar?

If possible, I think that would require CSS customization (available with Premium Plan purchase). There is no option available in the free customizer.

There is no text over the images in the post slider on the live demo site https://academicademo.wordpress.com/

Yes, thanks timethief.
Perhaps I should have been more explicit. The slider images in the demo, as is the case with those in my test site, display no title, page content excerpt, description, or date. No text at all displays overlaying or adjacent to the images, identifying or describing them. Since they are featured images, and there is no editor for featured images — presently we can only add or remove a featured image with a free WordPress account — you cannot modify the default behavior of the theme w.r.t to featured content, without CSS customization (if possible). -
The Academica customizer presently has only two options for featured content:
1. Hide tag from displaying in post meta and tag clouds.
2. Display tag content in all listings. -
I thought the “display tag content” might provide a sort of workaround. However, neither tags nor tag descriptions display on the post slider (featured content) images.
