In Classic Editor, the "Publish" Module Doesn't Stay at the Top
-
I’m using the classic editor through WP-Admin and the “Publish” module keeps going to the bottom of the sidebar. I have click to close the Categories’ and Tags’ modules to even see the “Publish” module.
I’ve moved it to the top during the draft stage, and editing stage and it keeps on moving to the bottom of the sidebar.
I’m using Firefox but also tried it on Chrome and it’s doing the same thing there.
Anyone else having this problem?

Numerous issues with attempts to create new posts in classic. There is no “visual mode” only “text mode”
-
I’m not running into either of these issues. Can you both clear your browser’s cache and cookies, and then try again?
-
Thanks Chris, however, I clear cookies and cache several times a day and still have this problem on two different browsers.
I move the Publish module to the top and it goes back to the bottom of the modules on the sidebar every time.

Can you send me a screenshot of the Publish module, and where it is on the bottom of the modules? https://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
I want to be sure we’re looking at the same thing.

Hmm, it’s still working fine for me. What versions of Windows and your browsers are you using?
-
@chrisrudzki
FWIW I’m running Windows 7 and Firefox 42 on this computer and I don’t experience this. -
Windows 7 and Firefox and Chrome whatever their latest versions are.
Does it have anything to do with cookies? I block 3rd party ones and only allow cookies individually for particular websites that I use frequently. But that is not anything that I changed recently.
What is Olark? They are blocked now; do they need to be unblocked?
Thanks for looking into this, Chris, I do appreciate your time.

Can you try enabling third-party cookies and see if it helps?
https://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/I’m also not entirely clear on what you mean by Olark being blocked. Are you seeing any errors?
-
Thanks Timethief. It said “widgets, live chat” so I kept it blocked.
No, I won’t allow third party cookies on my browsers, it’s too invasive.
This is happening on Chrome, too, and I have less privacy blocking there so use it for certain websites that do not work on FireFox.
Plus I didn’t change anything prior to this happening. I was wondering if WP changed something? I could always move, rearrange, etc. the modules on the classic editor side bar.

Read this please so you comprehend the limitations you experience when you do not enable third party cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
