I just switched my domain name to a new host, and I can’t figure anything out now!
I had my wordpress as a subdomain, now that I switched my host, when I look in my domain page area on wordpress it says “DNS needs to be updated” (however I don’t know how to do this, i’ve forgotten how I set it up the first time) and there is no “edit” button on my wordpress domain page so I don’t know what I’m suppose to do?
the subdomain I have is: blog.fotolina.me
My new host is freehosting.com, my domain name is from namecheap.com and this whole process is driving me bonkers lol thanks for help if you can.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Angelina,

That’s a shame that when you transferred your domain the DNS settings didn’t go with it! Some domain providers import those settings and some don’t.

Well, in any case, you might need to contact your new domain registrar for the details of just how to create these settings, but what you’ll need to do is log in to your account with your domain provider and go to the DNS section for your domain. You’ll need to create what is called a CNAME entry. There are a couple of parts to a CNAME: the prefix, and the destination.

The prefix in this case will be “blog.” Because you want to add “blog” to the beginning of your domain name “fotolina.me.”

And then destination is where you want that subdomain to point to. In this case, what you want to put in is your WordPress.com address, so you would put in “angelinawraith.wordpress.com”.

Don’t forget to save your changes!

Settings like these can take up to 72 hours, so don’t panic if you don’t see it immediately. And like I said, don’t hesitate about reaching out to your new domain registrar for help. They probably get tons of questions just like this every day. :)
