    I’m creating a new blog using the Ocean Mist theme and although I can load the image it won’t allow cropping, it displays the image I load and the crop header button but there’s no ability to modify the image- if I click on the image it highlights the image and I get a black circle with a line through it (like a banned-action).

    I have also followed other posts advice of cropping image in an editing program to the exact specifications of the theme and it hasn’t worked either. If I click the crop header button it gives me the message that it was successful but when viewing the site I get a black image box.

    I’m not sure that this would matter but I’m also using wordpress through a proxy; it’s not affecting any other functionalities though. Worth mentioning too, it’s not the only theme nor the only blog I write for that this has happened on. Detailed help is appreciated as I am not CSS savvy… Thanks, Caron.

    If you upload an image that is the exact size needed by the theme, you do not need to crop it. Do not hit the crop button.

    It could certainly be the proxy. I’ve found them far more trouble than they are worth in many cases.

    You mention CSS. Do you have the CSS upgrade?

    @thesacredpath:

    If I don’t press the crop header how do I save it? There are no options to save the image.

    Because I have every success in all other elements of wordpress I do not think that my proxy-use is at fault- I haven’t got a choice not to use one as I live in China.

    What else can I try?
    Thanks,
    Caron.

    As tsp says, you need to upload an image in the exact dimensions specified by the theme; in that case uploading is completed without the cropping tool showing up.

    (Provided you don’t have the CSS upgrade.)
