inability to insert a FEATURED IMAGE in Silesia theme

    My problem concerns my inability to insert a FEATURED IMAGE into my otherwise satisfactory SILESIA theme. I have carefully consulted the information in the site on this subject, have tried carefully on multiple occasions, with variants, but have not achieved success.

    I have standardized most of my header images to 990 pixels wide, height 150 (or so). That works perfectly in the Custom Header images, but does not work as a Featured Image.
