Inability to like comments

  • Unknown's avatar

The inability to like comments has not been an issue until recently. I now have to log in each time.

  • HI there,

Can you expand on what you mean by having to log in each time? The Like feature is only available to logged-in users, so I’m not sure what exactly is going wrong here.

Obviously, I don’t understand this either. I have never had to log in, as it always came up automatically.

I was informed that I had, perhaps inadvertently, unfollowed my most frequented
platform. I was able to get back in to that. I believe when I intended to only follow one group initially that I unintentionally established a WordPress account. I am not a blogger and don’t feel I have a need to keep that account active. Is that going to be a requirement to like a comment within a platform that I follow?

I seriously don’t know how that jumped off the track!

  • To be able to like any WordPress.com hosted site, you will need to be logged into your WordPress.com account. It’s not possible to leave a “like” without being logged in.

Thanks for the input. Now… how to I stay logged in and not have to log in each time I want to like a comment as I was able to do previously?

  • @carolweekleylmt if you’re getting logged out even though you’re checking the “stay logged in” option, check your browser’s cookie settings, and make sure you aren’t using any “tracking blockers” against WordPress.com. We have to use cookies to know you’re still logged in.

Seems to be working as of today. Thanks much for everyone’s assistance.
