Inactive email despite still subscribed

Hi. I changed my domain NS to Hostinger. In doing so, apparently my email was rendered inactive? Or something? Is there a way to make it active again? Thanks

    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there!

Your domain multipliedbyone.com is not registered by us so we have no insights to share with you. You’ll need to contact your email service provider and your domain registrar for help.

Also, your site uses the WordPress.org software which is different from WordPress.com sites that we help with on this forum. If you aren’t sure about the differences between them, please check the following page that explains it well: WordPress.com vs WordPress.org.

Generally speaking, if you change the nameservers of a domain, any existing DNS records will stop working. That includes the DNS records for your email service provider. So if your domain now has Hostinger’s nameservers, the DNS records for the email service will have to be added on Hostinger’s side.

You’ll want to reach out to your email service provider to get the required DNS records. Then you can contact Hostinger support for help with adding those email DNS records to the domain on Hostinger’s dashboard.

Within 72 hours of adding the DNS records, the email service should start working.

    Regards

I accessed this forum from the dashboard of my old wordpress, so im guessing this is the right place? The domain isn’t there anymore, but that’s where the account was. I had an ecommerce with wordpress, which is where I subscribed to the email, so will I continue to pay through wordpress, or it’s disconnected and I just change the DNS?

  • Hi there,

I see that you had that domain registered through us and transferred it away a few days ago. Also, your G Suite email is still managed by us and that’s why it stopped working once you transferred the domain.

Right now you’re connected to a different WordPress.com account than the one that has the email upgrade. So, you need to log in to that other account of yours and contact us again so we can help you resolve your email issue.

If you cannot access that other account of yours, please follow our Account Recovery guide:

I don’t need to recover my account. I was inside it. It had 3 options for sites to connect to forums. Multipliedbyone.com – multipliedbyonecom.wordpress.com – multipliedbyonedotcom.wordpress.com
Which of the 2nd or third should I use to access the forums? And since my subscription plan is still paid for for a personal account after downgrading, should I not have email support?

You will need to update your MX and TXT records in your Google Workspace account and new domain registrar. Here’s Google’s support document to help you navigate that:

    https://support.google.com/a/answer/140034?hl=en

Since you transferred the domain away from WordPress.com, we aren’t able to update those records for you.

Additionally your plan expires 2022-06-05. Around that time, you should log into the account that owns the upgrade (which isn’t cominginsideout, the account you’re currently logged into) and cancel the subscription and manage your subscription directly with Google since your site is no longer hosted with us.

And since my subscription plan is still paid for for a personal account after downgrading, should I not have email support?

If you were logged into the account that purchased the upgrade you would. But since you are not, that’s why you are only provided with the free forums support option (since this account does not have a paid upgrade).

    I hope that clarifies things!
