  I am having a problem with my “link” button. I am following instructions to add a pay-pal button to my site. When following the instructions given by word press, it is not working for me in text or visual view.

  Hi,

  I want to make sure we’re on the same page. You’re following our PayPal link instructions at this link?

  Can you save as a draft the page/post you’re working on and send me a link? At what point do things stop working?

  hello,

  I followed the instructions by wordpress, (sorry I can’t find link) when I get to the step after it says cut and paste the image link for the appropriate “donate” button. In the next step it says convert back to the “image” view and then click on the “link” icon button (the one that looks like a paper clip and it is not highlighted for me to do so.

  Sure—let’s get this straightened out for you!

  So you have the “email” style link from PayPal (number 9 in our instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/ ).

  • Visit the link above and copy the Donate button you’ll want to use (the full thing, which will start like <img src......
  • Visit your post editor and switch to the Text view. Here’s where the link is to do that: http://d.pr/i/9v85
  • Then paste the <img src... code that you copied into your post/page where you would like it to appear.
  • Click back to the Visual Editor using the link next to Text from the previous screenshot
  • Now, you should see the Donate button present in your post. Click on it.
  • The button should be “highlighted”, then click the link icon. See the screenshot here: http://d.pr/i/5Ds9
  • On the pop-up that comes up, copy the “email” style link from PayPal (see: http://d.pr/i/QATV )
  • Click Add Link and then save your post when you’re ready.
