Inactive site charge
-
Hi,
I’ve just noticed that I’ve been charged a $144 renewal fee for a website I was involved in making 2 years ago. I was unaware that this website was still active, and linked to my bank account. It is an academic lab website for a lab that no longer exists. I’m unable to access the linked email at this stage, though may be able to arrange to get into it. Can you assist me with deactivating this site and refunding the charge?
The website is https://ecosystemhealthsa.com/
Thanks, -
Hi there,
That site was created under a different account than the one you’re using to post here. You’ll need to be logged into that account to cancel the upgrades or to request a refund.
If you don’t have access to the email address any more, you can instead use the transaction ID from the recent payment to verify your ownership and regain access to that account. You’ll find that transaction ID on your credit card statement, as explained here:
https://wordpress.com/support/billing-history/#on-your-credit-card-statement
Once you have that code, enter it on the account recovery form at https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery, and someone will be in touch via email to help you regain access to the account. They’ll also then be able to assist you with the refund.
Please do not reply here in the public forums with that transaction ID :)
