Inappropriate ads on website

    I have created a wordpress site and just made it visible. Now I can see that the entire homepage is covered with huge ads and they are actually really inappropriate.
    I don’t really mind having some ads, but these ads are a huge problem. Not only do they cover most of the content, they advertise stuff like ‘see how these women are earning money from home…’ with explicit pictures and everything.
    Is there any way to get rid of these ads?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    To get rid of ads, you could upgrade to one of our plans, https://wordpress.com/pricing/

    Its called coercion — do you really think they are making money with these ugly stupid ads posted on a small blog site? no, they make money from you and me trying to get rid of them. No such thing as a free lunch.

    My complaint is that you are forced to subscribe to a different domain sponsor for another, higher annual fee.

    @wandermies If you see an inappropriate ad on your or any other WordPressdotcom website, please use the “Report this ad” link next to it which will report it to the WPcom ads team. Keep in mind that not everyone sees the same advertisements when visiting a site.

    @terrywoodall
    if one has a free website here, WordPressdotcom has the right to display advertising to keep free sites free. It’s in the ToS (Clause 7: Advertisements) you agreed to when you signed up for a free site. You do not have to upgrade unless you wish to.

    I’m not certain I understood your last sentence about being forced to subscribe to a different domain sponsor. If you want to keep your domain with your current registrar and use it on a WordPressdotcom site, you can map the domain rather than transfer it to WordPressdotcom.

    If you have other questions about this, please open a new forum thread and let us know what WordPressdotcom site is involved. Thanks.
