Inappropriate ads on wordpress

    Dear WordPress,

I recently linked my blog on facebook and it posted highly inappropriate images as 3 different advertisements within the blog post. Please let me know why this has happened and what can be done about it.

I am a professional educator and can’t have this type of content on my teaching website!

    Thank you!

If you don’t want ads on your free wordpress.com website, you must upgrade to a paid plan as e.g. the Personal Plan.

That seems a bit odd. Is this some kind of marketing strategy?

It’s not the fact that I don’t want ads. As long as they are ‘family friendly’, then I don’t mind. But the content of the advertisements was offensive, indecent. Is this acceptable?

It only appeared after I linked from Facebook. So, can I conclude it’s a problem with facebook? If I click on the website using a browser I don’t see ads.

    Thank you.

WordPress.com show ads on every free site to cover the costs, or simply said to keep your free site for free.

If you only see those ads on your FB, weel then it’s FB that puts them there.

Using a different browser and not signed in to WordPress.com, I followed a search engine result for your site but did not see ads. WordPress.com vets its various ad partners and there’s an explanation about that here https://wordpress.com/support/no-ads/#about-our-ads But if removal of all ads is important for you, then upgrading is the way to go.

There are other benefits to upgrading as well. Here’s a comparison chart of the plans. https://wordpress.com/pricing/

If you do find an offensive, indecent ad on your WordPress.com site, the best way to report it is by clicking the link near the ad itself where it says “about these ads” or somesuch.
