include categories in search

Is there a way to include my categories in the search done by the search widget? I’ve searched the forum and not been able to find anyone asking this specific question. I could do a work-around and include the text of the categories in the bottom of my post, but that seems clunky (and silly) and defeats the purpose of having categories. I tried using tags, but that didn’t work either.

Bummer… I certainly plan to use the category widget as well, but I thought it would be nice to have them in the search. It’s too bad it doesn’t work that way.
I could (of course) modify my writing such that the words I want are included, but I know that I may forget until the end when I am thinking about categorizing. Anyway I’ll probably just use the work-around that I mentioned above.
