Including entire post in Follow Blog widget's emails

    I post relatively short blog entries 2-3 times per week, of average 75 to max 300 words, listing what we are selling that day at our farmstand. I thought that the entire post was being emailed to those customers who have signed up with the widget on our WordPress site to receive the farmstand updates via email. Recently I noticed that the listing of produce was truncated and required the user to visit the site for the full post. Is there a way to include ALL the text from the blog post in the emailed version that the widget sends out? Or set the cut-off number of words/characters slightly higher? TIA!

    On the Settings->General page (or it might be Reading?) You can choose to set the RSS feed to an excerpt/summary or Full Posts. You want Full Posts.

    Hmm. I found under Settings–>Reading, the pref “For each article in a feed, show:
    o Full text
    o Summary

    I’d already set it to Full Text. Hmmm. Trying to remember if I’d changed it prior to the last time I published a post!! I guess I will see tomorrow when I post the day’s produce haul. I’ll try to be verbose. Otherwise I don’t see anything referencing an RSS feed, but guessing that is it. Thank you so much!

    Hmmm, that’s the only setting. I’m a bit puzzled; usually this happens when people are using themes that truncate the posts. What you can do is in the Write Post box, below there is a spot for the Excerpt. Click over to the Text editor that displays the actual code in your post, copy all of it, and paste it into the Excerpt box, then Update or Publish. That SHOULD push the whole post out in the email.

    OK, sorry I didn’t get a chance to give feedback! The “Full text” setting did work to send the entire post in emails. Hooray!! Thanks for the help.

    I wish there was a way to get more of the post text to appear in the Facebook link that is generated by each post. Probably another topic!
