Including Theme of Entire Blog in Tags

My blog is about history, so every post looks at some aspect of history. I don’t tag every post with ‘history’ because when people go to my blog and click on such a tag they will get a list of every post I have made which I think defeats the purpose of tags. I have been checking out wordpress’s tag cloud which I understand only lists the top 100 popular tags and it occurred to me that none of my posts will be included under the most relevant tag, history, because I have not used this tag.

Should I add a ‘history’ tag to every post I make in order for my posts to make it in WordPress’s tag cloud?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You should indeed; furthermore, I suggest you make it your default, which you can do under Settings->writing I believe.

Thanks for your reply. It certainly would be useful to have a tag automatically added to every post. I checked out Settings/Writing like you suggested but it had a setting for a default category but not for a default tag.

There is no default setting for tags, just for categories, but to search engines and the wordpress global tags pages, they are treated the same.
