incoming link is a “phishing” web site

This is a new one on me. Under blog stats, you get a list of “incoming links” and most make perfect sense. Today there were these three, looking mighty suspicious, since they have nothing to do with my blog topic. NOTE – YOU PROBABLY DON’T WANT TO CLICK THESE LINKS; I’m just including them fyi:

very-funny/very-funny-march-28-2007-214-am/)Sure enough, they are something known as “phishing” web sites that somehow collect info from you when you click on them. My question is, are these links going to somehow affect my blog site or the readers there? Can I delete them? Ew, I feel dirty.

I don’t see it as a phishing site, more of a scrapper. And considering it’s hosted by a company called rsskings.com…
Fire a complaint off to abuse ( at ) softlayer ( dot ) com about your copyright being violated and see what occurs.

I got one of those today too. I’m not going to post the link here, but I’m wondering if there is a way to delete it.

Go to your Dashboard —- > Comments and when you see it in the queue there, click Spam. It’ll go to spam and that source will be listed as a spammer, so all the incoming links will be automatically sent to spam instead of displayed.

Feel free to post the domain of the site and I can tell you who to complain to. I can delete it afterwards if you want.

Ok I’m having the same problem. I saw this site camshowlive.into/love/ and it says it’s powered by wordpress. It’s some kind of porn site and I want to know why it has my latest post on there. Oh I tried to spam it but it’s not under comments, is there anything else I can do.

There are blog scrapers who do this. You have not given a complete url so it’s impossible to view the blog in question. Suffice to say that wordpress.com and wordpress.org blog templates may look the same but run on different software. My guess is that a blog scraper has downloaded a free wordpress.org template and has scraped your post but this cannot be determined until you provide the complete url so the blog in question can be viewed. -

You know, it’s probably best if you don’t put a LIVE link in there, if the whole thing you’re complaining about is that it’s not a good site to link to.
They probably just surf blogs using RSS feed for tags and scrape whatever has the keywords they’re looking for.
