Incoming Links

  I’m looking to find out exactly how they work. I have a support issue with them as well but knowing how they work will probably answer it.

  Are they an internal WP process?
  Are they read from site stats? (webalizer and alike)
  Are they read from an outside source and if so who?

  I’m running WP 2.1 (not sure about .3) on a free host, that doesn’t offer site stats unfortunately, and the incoming links section never seems to load in the dashboard. It tries but never comes up. Not even the Incoming Links header.

  But anyway, there should be a more link near the list that will point you to eather Technorati or Google’s Blog Search service. It’s a simple RSS feed from one of those two that’s being pulled in. Open up your wp-admin/index.php file and take a look.
