I was wondering if someone could tell me please what incoming links are. I haven’t got trackbacks enabled so am curious as to why i have incoming links on my stats page today. I am confused as to what they actually are.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have just found one of my postings has been stolen from my other blog http://welshsketcherpoet.wordpress.com
    It was stolen by http://overcominganxiety.wordpress.com
I have a link to this other blog of mine on THIS blog that my name is linked to. Could this explain the incoming links.

If you put something on the internet, sadly it is likely only a matter of time till someone steals it.

The only definitive way to keep this from happening is to simply not put anything you do not want stolen on the internet.

Anyone posting on the internet has to constantly look for stolen or scraped articles and then take the necessary steps (DMCA violation notices) to get them shut down. Or don’t.

Incoming links by the way are from blogs or other sites that have linked to something on your site. It may be that they saw one of your articles, liked it, and then wrote an article on their site and said something to the effect, “I was over at blogname.com the other day and read an article titled “Who moved my cheese?” and it is really good. You should stop by and give it a read.” Incoming links though can also be from srapers. I watch mind carefully and visit each one to determine if they are scraping my content, or if they actually wrote an article pointing someone over to a post on my blog that they though was worth a read to their viewers.
