Incoming links?

I am very new to this but have been puting out some content that I thought would be of interest. It seems as though I have “incoming links” for all my posts from one website but visiting that site provides no obvious link or comment to my blog or its content. In fact it would seem that if people found and clicked these links they would never get to me or my blog but to some arbitrary site or blog. What is going on here, can anyone explain? Thanks PC

Sure my blog is http://paracaddis.wordpress.com the incoming links are all coming from http://forafrica.co.za/fishing/?p=799 (that is the page that I get to if I follow any of the links,I presume that is what you mean.. sorry not a computer fundi)..

I suspect that it is because you have the possibly related posts (automatically generate) active on your blog. Click here and scroll to the bottom: http://paracaddis.wordpress.com/2009/07/23/fishing-cape-streams-part-3/ .
With that active, your posts will show up on other sites (like the ones on yours) under other people’s posts, which is probably where you are getting those links. People are clicking on a link to one of your posts on another blog.

Thanks for taking the trouble, I had a look at your blog, very nice I am oxymoronic as it sounds also “into the outdoors”.
What I don’t get is that if I visit these linked sites I cannot find any reference to my blog or link to it, that seems odd to me. But hell I don’t realy know what I am doing at this level ? Thanks again for the advice. Appreicate the time.. Tim -
Since the link you provided is not dead, I can’t check, but it could well be that the links in the possibly related posts sections change periodically. I don’t know that for sure, but I suspect it could.
You would have to ask staff about that.
