Incoming links
-
I haven’t been at WordPress long and am only just finding my feet. I have an incoming link today and i don’t really understand what an incoming link is. I don’t allow pingbacks or trackbacks so how did i get an incoming link? Are they different things, i thought they were the same. Also, are incoming links a good or bad thing, mine has come from flickr to one of my sketches so does it mean someone has stolen my sketch?? It’s all very confusing to me.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Incoming links are pulled from Google Blog Search and display URLs around the internet linking to your blog.
If someone has linked to your blog and you’re wondering how they have used or linked to your content you can see the page by just clicking on the link.

I clicked on the link and it took me to a blog on WordPress (connected to Flickr) that i had commented on…but there is nothing of mine there that i can see just in the sidebar is a list of recent comments which i am on…would that make the link??

If you are logged into WordPress.com and leave a comment on another blog your username will be linked to your blog. This is probably the link that appeared in “Incoming Links” for you.

Thank you. I have made comments on other blogs but have never had a link come up before. I’m sure i’ll understand it all eventually LOL. Thanks again ;)

Hi,
I’m having a related problem. While I was trying to configure things, I erased the Incoming Links Google address. Is there a way to get that back? I was thinking that “incoming links” were RSS feeds for the blog. But no!
Thanks,
Ben
