incoming links

I’m new to this so please be patient.

First off, I went to the FAQ’s and could not find an answer to my Q, so help would be appreciated

On the bottom of my stats page there is a section called “incoming link”. What do I do with it?

Also, last week I asked a question but when I came back to look for an answer I could not even find where I posted it. Like I said, I’m new at this. Anyway, my question had to do with traffic. What is considered decent traffic. I’ve been at this for almost a month now and my best day came 3 days ago with over 800 visitors. Is this good, bad, average? How do I judge?

Incoming links simply shows you who is linking back to your blog. It is simply for your information.

When you come to the forums, simply click on your username at the top of the forum (light blue bar) and it will show you the post you have started as well as the ones you have posted to.

Also, it helps the volunteers here in the forums out considerably if you link your username to your blog address: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-make-your-name-link-to-your-blog?replies=54

    Thanks.

Should I return the favor by linking them in my site?

As far as what is considered decent traffic, that all depends on the subject matter. Highly controversial, but good blogs typically get a lot of hits (and the typical resultant flame wars). Good blogs on sports also typically get pretty good traffic (the people’s opiate).

To maximize your traffic, take a look through the stuff over at http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com . Timethief has a lot of great tips on how to optimize your blog for your readers, and how to maximize your traffic.
