Incoming links have all disappeared off blog stat page
-
My incoming links no longer show on my blog stat page. I had over 100 of them, and now they’ve completely poofed. To make matters worse, I’ve been linked three times since by three blogger friends, and it’s been three days, and they haven’t shown up at all. I contacted support, but all they could say was it was not them, it’s Google. This is ridiculous, as I need my links so I can respond to some of them with links in kind. Can anyone help or give any advice how to get them back on my blog stat page when someone links to my blog? There has to to be a way *sigh& www/lisamichele.wordpress.com
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, it’s a Google issue. When Google messes up, check your links at http://technorati.com instead. It’s not perfect, but overall it’s a much more reliable system.

Ack, I only got 4 results using the title of my blog, and 16 results using the URL. I’m still missing like 90 something :( Has this happened before and does Google ever remedy it so incoming links appear again? Are your incoming links still on your blog stats page?
-
I have no idea where the Incoming Links from google are or when they’ll show up. They are most likely gone for everyone right now.
Try registering with Technorati.com and then claiming your blog. That sometimes gives you better stats.

Follow the instructions on the site. The link should be right at the bottom of the page, or once you’ve registered a user ID with them they should show up immediately.
-
OK, so it’ll show in my blog stats who linked to me a la what Google used to do? By the way, I like your blog!
-
THanks.
No, it never agrees 100% with Google, but it’s a useful fallback for when Google breaks. When Technorati breaks, we suggest using Google.
BTW if you really like my blog, link to it! Then I go up in Technorati standing!
-
I’ve had exactly the same issue – wouldn’t trust Technorati though. It seems that doing a google blog search for incoming links isn’t working either, which would explain why the incoming links have disappeared.
-
Does letting Technorati have me ‘claim’ my blog when I register, take away everything Google, in case they fix it? All I did was register and add my blog to technorati, I didn’t add any of the buttons to my site.
-
No, Google and Technorati are entirely separate. You don’t need to add any buttons or anything either.
-
So when Google hopefully/finally fixes this problem, it will still record my incoming links, along with technorati? As for linking to your blog, do you mean in my blogroll? Will you return the favor? :D
-
IF Google fixes the problem, it’ll index links again. And I was joking about the link; link exchanges are hopelessly 1994!
-
1994? Wow, you go bakc a long away on th net, even though I don’t recall there being much of a net back then! LOL
-
I also miss my incoming links. Would appreciate any help in getting them back on my stats page. I don’t understand the Google connection.
-
There is no new information to give you. Those links come from Google Blogsearch. Google Blogsearch is broken. The links will continue to be gone until Google Blogsearch is fixed.
