inconsistent behavior between PressThis and Visual Editor

  I’d like to report this inconsistent behavior I noticed with the image files, between PressThis and Visual Editor.

  When I use PressThis and use its image icon to grab the image(s) from the external websites, there are times when PressThis does not find images to grab. However, you could still add the image by copying its location and pasting it into the post by using “Add from URL +”.

  Above brings the image to your post within the PressThis editor. However, it also brings the image to your Media library and it hosts and links it from your blog’s own media library. So you are not just linking the image from an external website, the PressThis editor copied the image for you from the third party website. This is highly convenient because you don’t need to save image to your hard drive and then upload back to your blog (copyright issues notwithstanding).

  Here is the inconsistency. The above behavior does not happen when you insert images in Visual Editor using “From URL” section (second tab in the Image section of Visual Editor). In Visual Editor, when you provide the external image location, the Editor runs the image from the external site, it does not copy the image to your media library. The disadvantage is that if the external website removes their image, you will loose it as well.

  I’d like to see the possibility of PressThis behavior copy over to Visual Editor.
