Incorrect email during registration

Hi,
I was signing up in gravatar with another email address of mine and it seems that a missed a character and I cannot login.
I’ve read other posts that say login and go to your account but when I login I only get a re-send activation button.

A wordpress.com account and a gravatar account are one in the same thing.

So my registration email was (email visible only to moderators and staff)
The correct one should be (email visible only to moderators and staff)
username was christos.I can login to my account using the incorrect email but as I said the only thing I get is a button to resend. Message is
“Your account has not been activated. We sent you an email with a link to activate.” -
There is a single email address that can be used on only one username account and not on any others.
Is this the correct username account?

Mhm I am not sure about the username then since that one says its been active since 2005 and I just registered the account.
With the incorrect email though I can login in up to that button message.
Might be better to check the username associated to (email visible only to moderators and staff) then swap that to (email visible only to moderators and staff) to be safe? -

Tried that already.
The only thing I get is a message“Your account has not been activated. We sent you an email with a link to activate.”
and a button to resend the activation email.

Can you please log into that account and reply here. I can’t do anything else to help you unless it is the actual username of that account making the request.
You should be able to post here even if the account isn’t verified yet.

Unfortunately, that is not possible either.
Here is a screenshot of what I am getting when I log in with that account.
ScreenshotI cannot get past beyond that since the email is incorrect and thus the account has never been activated. If the email was corrected then of course I would be able to receive the activation mail and proceed.

Do you mean it’s not possible to log in? So when I asked you to visit the Account page, as which account were you logged in. This one?
The account not being activated won’t prevent you from logging in. It will only prevent you from creating new posts.
Did you try logging in using the incorrect email address in the username field? As long as you use the same email address and password combination you did when creating the account, you will be able to log in.
Unless you can post here as that account, there is nothing further we can do for you. I cannot alter ANY details in an account, unless the request comes from THAT account.

All my attempts are with my username (email visible only to moderators and staff)
I can login successfully as if I input the above email and my password I can get to the page in the screenshot below (hopefully you can access it now)
ScreenshotThis is a successful login to me since if I try the same email and an invalid password I just get a message that the password is incorrect.
So yeah I can login but I cant get past that stage.

That should not happen. You should be able to log in and access the dashboard, even with an unverified account.
I have a feeling this is something that our developers will need to look at, and I can’t get hold of one right now. I’ll be in touch as soon as I hear something.

Hi there,
It seems this is specifically a problem if you create your account via Gravatar. Can you please try the following:
1) Log out of this account, and clear your browser cookies to make sure you’re completely logged out.
2) Go to the Gravatar website and log in there.
http://en.gravatar.com/That should give you a screen that says Confirmation Email Sent, and showing the incorrect email you entered.
3) From there, go directly to https://wordpress.com/
Now you should be logged in to your account in WordPress.com as well, and should be able to update the email address at https://wordpress.com/me/account
After you update the email address and click Save you should get a confirmation email at the new (correct) address you entered.
Let me know whether that works or not.

First of all thank you for your help.
Now I followed your directions and deleted the browser cookies and then went into gravatar and logged in.When I went to wordpress.com I was not logged in so I could not continue over to https://wordpress.com/me/account.
Prior to asking for help here I read that you should be able to access https://wordpress.com/me/account regardless which was not happening for me hehe. Now as you say it seems that it is due to signing up on gravatar!

You should be able to access that page, yes, but there appears to be a known problem with Gravatar signups that aren’t verified.
I have asked our developers to look into this, but they might only get to this after the weekend. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear something.
