Incorrect/Insufficient Refund
-
I purchased a 2-year premium hosting package on February 17th and was billed $198. I canceled the purchased today, February 19th, and was refunded only $179. Domain name registration refunds are limited to 96 hours after purchase. It has been only 51 hours. I expected a full refund.
Thank you,

Did you intend to use the domain address again elsewhere? In that case cancelling it isn’t maybe a great idea. If you don’t intend to use the domain again I’m sure staff can assist you so clarify your intentions here and a member of staff will respond in due course.

The domain is currently at SiteGround and I plan to leave it there for now. I do not want to transfer the domain name any longer.

Hi there,
It appears you had a pending domain transfer (at the time of cancellation) which prevented us from refunding the domain costs. To explain, if we were to cancel and refund during the transfer, there is a risk that the domain will be lost.
I can confirm that in the time since you canceled your WordPress.com upgrades you appear to have stopped the transfer with SiteGround directly. As a result I have issued a refund for $19. You can see a receipt confirming this refund here: https://wordpress.com/me/billing
You can expect to see the funds in your account, but it can take a billing cycle or two depending on your institution. I can confirm the refund was processed on our end, but you may also wish to contact your credit card company to confirm.

Sorry to see you go, but I wish you the best of luck!

Thank you so much! I will likely be back, I just didn’t have the time to rebuild everything at present. I’ll look into it again when I have more flexibility.
