Incorrect photo preview appearing on my home page

Can someone help me figure out what’s wrong?
The photo appearing as preview on my blog home page is the incorrect one, and not a preview of the photo used in that blog post.
How can I correct this?
I tried deleting the incorrect image that appears from my wordpress gallery but it still continues to appear. Please help!

Are you saying that one of your blog posts is showing the wrong featured image?

So this is my home page (look at the first image)- https://ilareddy.wordpress.com/
But if you click on it and go to the post there is a different image (the correct one)-
https://ilareddy.wordpress.com/2015/08/05/minds-without-fear/How can I fix this?

P.S. The blog post features the correct image. But the preview of the post on the home page features the wrong one.

Did you use “featured image” on your posts or are you inserting each image by hand at the beginning of your posts?

I’m inserting each image by hand at the beginning of the post. There is no featured image in any of the posts.

I’m sorry. I’m not sure what is wrong. For some reason, it is pulling the wrong thumbnail. If you once included it as the thumbnail, it’s possible that it’s just having a hard time removing it from its memory.
I hope someone can help you fix this. I feel bad that I cannot offer you answers.
