Incorrect post time
-
I created a post for a required assignment in my grad school class posted it on Saturday around 8:30pm eastern time. The assignment needed to be posted by Saturday to recieve full credit. On the posting itself, wordpress says I posted at 12:37am Sunday, therefore I did not recieve full credit for the assignment. Is there a reason this may have happend? I’d like to avoid having it happen again.

There are two things that I can think of that happened.
1) Your time zone is set to UTC as opposed to eastern time zone. To change your time zone go to Settings->General (support doc: https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/general-settings/2/#timezone)
2) You unintentionally scheduled a post as opposed to publish immediately. This involved more steps so I’m guessing you didn’t do that (support doc on scheduling a post: https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/)Something you could do for the future is subscribe to follow your blog via email. If you don’t have the Follow Blog widget you would need to add it (https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/) I don’t know if your professor would accept an email as “proof” of when you published your post but you could always try.
